The Curatorial and Jury Panel and Process
The Curatorial Panel consists of individual artists and community members, who curate arts out of open calls. The judging of the artwork is through a blind process in which the name of the artists, when judging the artwork is not known to the jury. The jury consider whether the artwork is relevant to the themes of the exhibit. Does the artwork express a commitment to interfaith understanding, coexistence, peace and cultural exchange? The jury consider both the artwork and the written materials submitted (Artist Statement) to determine this. A second set of jurors then select the winners and prizes are awarded to the Best of Show, First, Second and Third place winners. The Reception and Awards Ceremony is held at the M. G. Nelson Family Gallery at the Springfield Art Association.
