Choir concert at Cathedral Westminster Presbyterian Church choir combined voices with Blackburn College Choir in a program held at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception singing "Psalms of David".
Lois Sprengnether Keel, storyteller Stories from the Muslim, Hindu, Christian and Jewish traditions were presented by Storyteller Lois Sprengnether Keel at St. John's Lutheran Church
African Ensemble of IL African Ensemble of Central Illinois is comprised of Africans now living in central Illinois. They sang, played instruments and led the audience in worship as was done in the churches of the Congo, formerly known as Zaire in Central Africa.
Dr. Gerry Hancock and Dale Rogers, organists Dr. Gerry Hancock , Organist and Master of Choristers Emeritus of Saint Thomas Church in New York City visited the Dana Thomas House in Springfield with former student, Dale Rogers before performing at the 2006 Liturgical Arts Festival .
Local religious leaders spoke on the common thread existing in Jewish, Muslim & Christian religions presented in chants and readings.
2006 Liturgical and Sacred Art Exhibit opened with a reception held on April 29. The juried art exhibition was organized and co-sponsored by the Springfield Art Association and the Liturgical Arts Festival. Chamber music was provided by members of the Illinois Symphony. ISO Symphony concert was held the same evening and Richard Haglund offered concert comments to participants during dinner. Click on the exhibit picture above to view the gallery art.
